Meet the Directors
Brian Lovejoy is currently the Middle School Drama at American Heritage School where he has taught for the past 10 years. Originally from Massachusetts, Mr. Lovejoy taught music and drama in New Hampshire, where he also worked as an actor until moving to Florida in 2007. His favorite roles include: The Leading Player in Pippin with the Garrison Players, Action in West Side Story with The Seacoast Repertory Theatre, and Lamar in Godspell at the Hackmatack Playhouse. Mr. Lovejoy is the Junior Thespian Director for AHS Troupe 88124 and the Junior Thespian District 12 Chairman.
Wendy Day received her BA degree in Drama from UC Irvine with a specialty in Musical Theatre. After college, she spent 10 years in regional theaters, including the Sacramento Music Circus and the Sacramento Theater Company. Some of Ms. Day’s favorite roles during that time include, Laurey in Oklahoma, the title role in Evita, and Sarah and Adelaide in different productions of Guys and Dolls. She also spent 5 years singing and dancing on various cruise ships in revue companies and later became a headliner for the cruise lines. The last several years, Ms. Day has devoted her life to teaching and sharing her love of musical theater with young people. She directed and choreographed several musicals including, Dr. Dolittle, Annie, Aristocats, Bye Bye Birdie, Doo Wop Wed Widing Hood, and Little Mermaid. She also musically directed Gypsy, Runaways, Starmites, Dear Edwina, and Snoopy. Ms. Day feels very blessed to have this opportunity to work with amazing kids who are the rising stars of tomorrow!
